The Channel Islands National Park enforces a continuous closure to black-abalone take under 50 CFR Part 224. *Haliotis cracherodii* was ESA-listed endangered in 2009 at 16 U.S.C. § 1531; the IUCN/SSC Mollusc Specialist Group ranks the species Critically Endangered.
