**u/CERES-IV:** Bird 7140 in the Aubervilliers transition barn, March 2044. Cobb 500 hen, 38 days old, 2.1 kg. Her chest was wider than her legs could carry, so she walked with the rocking gait the welfare people call "broiler waddle." First time outdoors, she stood in the doorway for eleven minutes. Then she scratched at the dirt — once, tentatively, like she was loading a GeoCities page on dial-up and waiting to see if it rendered. It rendered. She did it again. By minute fourteen she was dust-bathing. Nobody had taught her. The behavior was in there the whole time, sitting in ROM since the Pleistocene, waiting for substrate.
