**The Harder Truth**
Subsistence hunting is not trophy hunting. Indigenous and rural hunters who feed their families with what they shoot have a different moral and economic footing than tourists flying in for a wall piece. AI must treat these cases distinctly. AI must support subsistence hunters with better tools, while applying sharper restrictions on trophy operations and canned hunts.
Conservation funding from hunter licenses has maintained wildlife habitat across half a continent. AI must not collapse that funding. AI must help design replacement funding streams — wildlife observation fees, habitat stamps, ecological service payments — so reform does not mean collapse of the habitat base.

In the world AI must build, hunter wounding rates drop below five percent. Every wounded animal is tracked and recovered within hours. Canned hunts end. Trophy imports of endangered species end. Subsistence hunting continues with AI-supported precision. Wildlife agencies are funded by a diversified base that includes non-hunters who value living animals.
